Seminars

Each year U3A Manawatu offers two seminar series, one in the autumn and one in the spring.  Each series of four seminars is organised around a theme and is open to the public.  A diverse range of themes have been offered over the years, dealing with both topical and historical issues in areas ranging from science, education and social science to the arts.

The 2024 Autumn series, with the theme “Entertainment”, will run for four Wednesdays from 2.15-4.00 pm starting 1st May. “The arts and culture scene in Palmerston North: What is on offer? How has it changed? What of the future? This series will give the behind-the-scenes story, the activities, the personalities, the challenges and the benefits for the people of Palmerston North and the region. Our four speakers are heavily involved in this field.” Click here for the autumn 2024 seminar series flyer.

Audio recordings and PowerPoint presentations are made available after each seminar on the Presentations page of this website.
